Summer in Sölden
Be it the crystal-clear waters in unspoiled countryside,
the mountain meadows set against a unique Alpine backdrop, or the
countless recreational opportunities in a region which ranges from
the broad valley bottom to high up in the world of eternal
ice.
At elevations ranging from 800 to 3,000 metres above sea level,
our trails, blue skies and sunshine invite you
to embark on walks, hikes or mountain climbing adventures.
There is a special feeling of happiness to
be had as you gaze out from high atop the mountains. The mountain
regions of the Ötztal Alps, with some two hundred
and fifty 3,000 metre peaks, afford you ample opportunity to do
just that.
Numerous paths, trails and Alpine routes lead from the valley, past
rustic mountain inns and huts, up to the glaciers and highest mountain
peaks.
Many of the hiking areas located at higher elevations can also be
reached via chair or cable lift, making them readily accessible
even for shorter tours. Essential elements of any hike, of course,
are good equipment and the necessary maps.
